Build-out of Mississauga Rheumatology Clinic

Natural Light
In order to make the clinic more appealing and bright, we made sure to get as much as possible of natural light by not to block any of the windows. Therefore, the consultation rooms had doors with glass insert to bring in more natural light. Also the vestibule area was built with glass panels and glass door to allow for more natural light and give the space a welcoming and modern look.
Colour Theme
The color theme of the clinic was decided by our clients; therefore, we did what we do best to deliver an outstanding workmanship and exceed our clients’ expectations which is our top priority. The entire design and build of floor and ceiling layout was discussed and reviewed by our clients to make the space and color theme welcoming and comfortable environment.
Design and Build
First step before we start any medical office design and build project is to discuss our clients’ wish list and must have items. This project was much easier to finalize the design, since our clients already had an idea of how they wanted the layout for their medical office. They prepared a sketch layout which we had to modify to meet Ontario Building Code. SNR Contracting a well known commercial contractor that pays attention to all small details. The best way to utilize and maximum the amount of space available is by knowing which areas are going to be featured to the public and which areas needed to be practical to doctors and staff. In any medical renovation, extra space cannot be wasted as a lot of important features needed to be covered.
First Impression
A good first impression of a modern medical office environment starts front entrance, the waiting, and receptionist areas. Therefore, the ceilings were carefully designed as false ceiling along with LED pot lights and LED light strips. The medical clinic was well-equipped with big waiting areas and three stations for reception desk in order to avoid long waiting queues of patients. There are six examination rooms along with one blood infusion room and two consultation rooms. Moreover, as a medical contractor company we have kept in mind the inclusion of both accessible bathroom for patients and a staff bathroom for doctors and office staff. The clinic is also equipped with a laundry room and a decent size pantry for doctors and staff where they can enjoy their breaks. We know how important it to have a private and quiet environment due to which we used proper sound barrier insulation for partition walls; this important to include in all of our commercial construction projects. Whereas, T-Bar ceilings were designed with LED lights for corridors and all rooms inside the clinic. All electrical was done according to ESA and OSB building codes.
Keep It Clean
In order to give the clinic a more hygienic and clean look; we used porcelain tiles on the floors and walls inside both accessible and staff bathrooms. This way the floors and walls will remain remain clean and require less amount of maintenance. The location of each item such as medical exam bed, doctors desk and clean area with sink were decided to represent the theme of the office and are designed for day to day use by doctors and staff where. This medical build-out had a lot of details and high expectations; therefore, we had to make sure to have a constant follow ups and updates with our trades, suppliers and workers. Thanks to our clients’ friendly attitude, help with finalizing the design and deciding on the color palette which made this project look great and completed successfully.
