Dental & Medical Office Design Tips: Kids Corner
There is need to design a sitting area in dentist’s office or a doctor’s office with a reception area that is not only welcoming and relaxing but also suitable for both grown-ups and children alike.
So how do you make sure your reception area design looks stunning? Just follow the tips below:
1. Ensure there is Enough Space
There is nothing as disappointing as having a crowded waiting room filled with coughing and sneezing patients. Before you choose the medical office reception area design you want to have, first make sure to consider the size of your waiting room. As you think through what things you will have in your reception area, also remember to consider the number of clients who come to your office within an hour and the number of people who are at the waiting room waiting for them.
Don’t forget the children as well as you will need to have enough room for them to play and move around.
2. Design an Inviting Entrance
Most clients particularly those with little children don’t love coming into the doctor’s office. With that in mind, ensure to create a welcoming entrance that gives off a good first impression as well as makes the patients feel comfortable. Simple things like keeping the entrance clean and clutter free are great ways to ensure that clients remember your medical office in a positive way. You could also have a board with the pictures of the staff set up at the entrance so that clients don’t have a hard time identifying whom to interact with while at the reception.
3. Have Ample Seating Space for both kids and Adults
As people don’t like waiting around for long durations of time seated in uncomfortable chairs, ensure that you provide your clients with stylish, comfortable seats so that they don’t get irritated and leave. This also goes for kid’s patients as well. Let your reception area have chairs that accommodate children because just as it is important to cater to the parents, then so should it be for their children.
4. Let Lighting and Décor Accentuate your Space
As you know, people who come to visit you at your office are not in their best of moods because of feeling unwell. If you want to uplift their spirits, provide space that has bright and inspirational lighting and décor. Please remember to keep it simple and unobtrusive in the décor you choose and let the room be well lit so that the room can look appealing. Use lamps, overhead lighting, and wall fixtures to get this done.
5. Provide Things to Entertain Patients
Don’t just have magazines in your reception area; bring in books and in this case children books as well. You could also bring in some toys so that children can play with them whenever they get bored. We recommend you avoid bringing in a TV to your reception area as it mostly adds noise to the room, and it insinuates you are going to take a while before clients see you.
